The first pep rally of the year took place in the arena on Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m. Students from different grade levels took their part in the multiple activities planned out by student council and spirit groups.
The event started with dances performed by cheerleaders, cheerabilites, the Rockettes, and the Elite Hawk Step Team. Many sports were presented as well including tennis, aquatics, and the football varsity team. The band played the Alma Mater before the freshman class was named the first spirit stick winners of the year.
In the evening, the “Pride of Prosper” football game was played by the rival teams; Prosper High School and Rock Hill High School at the Children’s Health Stadium. Students and fans showed up with their camouflage or bright electric blue clothing.
The Blue Hawks scored first with a pick-six from Nick Butler after the first quarter interception. The crowds from the schools were wild with the Blue Hawks maintaining a 14-13 lead at halftime. The halftime show was filled with the spirit from band, color guard, and the Rockette performances. The Eagles took the lead in the third, but the Blue Hawks came close to a win with the final score of 28-34.
