Felipe Herrera receives chemotherapy for his stage four small cell adenocarcinoma, a rare and fast-growing form of metastatic lung cancer. The Herreras are one of the Rock Hill families suffering emotionally, economically and physically from adverse cancer diagnoses. “The hardest thing has been not being able to work and being dependent on other people to take care of me.” Herrera said.

Senior David Busbee created a portrayal of an equality protest where people hold up signs. Honors English teacher Jennifer Cheng says “I don’t know any Asian person who hasn’t experienced discrimination of some kind." Hill Top Times reporter Jade Kratochvil hopes to bring light to the extent and impact that racism has had against the Asian community.

The Spanish Honor Society decorated the school for Hispanic heritage month, which included translating the core values into Spanish. The core values of Rock Hill High School are integrity, creativity, service, excellence, empathy and unity. "We placed it there so that students and staff coming in could see it perfectly and constantly be reminded of the heritage month." SHS officer Maria Duron-Garcia said.
