Dyslexia classes are a big part of a dyslexia student’s learning. They allow them to help students understand reading, writing and literature in many ways. This allows the students to get the help they need, and go out of the program with a better understanding of how to learn.
“It helped by helping me learn new techniques and showed me how to learn better in the classroom,”take flight student Avery Porter said.
It can also show students that no matter how old they are they can always grow as a student and can always learn more.
”Some people think that once they are in high school they think their reading can’t get any better and then watch them as their reading gets tremendously better from taking the class,”Rock hill take flight teacher Jessica Carr.
The classes are also made to where you can connect more with the people you learn with so you get more of a connection to other students in the class.
” A thing I liked about the class was that it was a very small class so it felt like more of a group, more of a bonding express and the connection was pretty good,”Porter said.
The classes were also used to prove that just because you can’t do certain things as well doesn’t mean that you were less intelligent.
“The most important thing I want my students to know is that there is no part of the IQ test that has to do with spelling, so when someone thinks that they aren’t good at spelling that doesn’t mean they ar stupid in any way,”Carr.
What you are getting out of the class genuinely helps you get a better understanding of your own ways you can learn and has helped many people in school in many ways.
“I think they do a good job of teaching me. Before I took flight I was ok in school, then after I was having A’s and B’s in many of my classes,”Porter.
One of the best things these classes provide to the students is that they can do just as capable of doing anything as anyone else.
“One of the most important things I want my students to take away is that being dyslexic, does not mean that they are not super smart, and they are able to do anything that you want to do in your life, Carr.
