London Bridge has fallen

January 10, 2023

Her death brought up a lot of questions on how Britain will move forward. Those questions are answered by Operation London Bridge. As it turns out, palace and government officials had been planning for her death since the early 60s. Secret meetings were held at least twice a year ever since to discuss details following her death.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II was bound to induce a state of national distress, and ‘London Bridge’ ensured the maintenance of order. In turn, the ascension of the next monarch will happen seamlessly.

After the queen’s death, the new monarch, King Charles the III, announced a period of Royal Mourning lasting from the day of her death to seven days after her funeral.

The flags at the royal residences were lowered to half-mast on Sept. 8th and will remain that way until 8 a.m. on the final day of mourning.

On Sept. 9, 2022 there was a royal salute fired in London by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, a ceremonial military unit. One round was shot for each year she was alive.

All royal residences were closed until the queen’s funeral. Locations that were closed include The Queen’s Gallery, the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, The Queen’s Gallery in Edinburgh. Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House, The Queen’s private estates were also part of the closure. The Hillsborough Castle, and the Sovereign’s official residence was also closed.

There is an online commemoration of the queen’s life and allows readers to send messages of condolence to the Royal Family.
